While building TravelAnimator, we kept noticing the same feedback again and again.

Most apps (including ours earlier) draw straight lines between two points when you create a route.

It works… but it doesn’t feel real.

Road trips cut through mountains.
Hikes go across lakes.

A lot of our negative reviews were actually about this.

People wanted routes that follow real roads, not straight lines. So over time we tried a few solutions.

First we introduced GPX imports. Then we added support for Google Maps links.

Both helped, but they still required extra steps.

We kept asking ourselves:
How do we make this as simple as plotting a route?

So we built something simpler.

Now your routes automatically follow actual roads and paths instead of straight lines.

How it works:

Search and add your locations → Long press on any point → Tap Enable Real Routes

That’s it.

Your route instantly snaps to real roads.

No GPX files. No external maps. No manual adjustments.

Just plot your journey and animate it.
