Finally, a way to make those cool travel maps without the pro editing skills. It honestly makes the whole planning process more fun! :D
@daniele_packard@angell019 TravelBoast has offered route-animation videos since 2022. The UX and 3D assets feel similar—are your 3D models original/in-house (or licensed), and what’s the main innovation vs existing apps?
@abod_rehman Travel vloggers and casual travellers—of course. They’re the most active users, using the app to showcase both short and long trips. We’ve also seen strong adoption from flight attendants, sailors, and educational users.
Your product leans hard into “make it look premium fast” (styles, 3D vehicles, photos, 4K). How did you prioritize visual polish vs. route-editing power early on, and what feature requests have forced the hardest tradeoffs?
@curiouskitty It's not one or the other. We are addressing both the UI fixes and the route-building issues hand in hand. For example, one of the biggest requests we had for a long time was to support rail routes or routes for models like cars to travel along roads instead of drawing them straight from point A to point B. This was not easy to do, but it was the highest requested feature. That required a lot of other UI changes, and once we got that complete, we got to doing real routes. So, both these things are interconnected.
The hardest trade-off is incorporating features like video processing within maps and similar things that require a lot of mobile phone GPU. This is hard to do because, especially with Android, the vast majority of phones are not high-quality, and trying to export anything more than a minute or two of video takes 4-5 minutes. And users lose their attention span within that.

@jenn_wall4 Thank you!
It looks very interesting. I have thought about how to present every trip in 3D animation before, and I found this feeling here.✨
TravelAnimator
@kaiyi26 Really happy to hear that. Thank you!
