Tuck keeps the menu bar icons you use and tucks the rest away. Arrange three bars by dragging, open any hidden icon from the Tuck Bar with one click, find icons by name, and keep your order after restarts and updates. Built for macOS 27. Free.
Hi Product Hunt!
macOS 27 changed how the menu bar works, and the menu bar manager I had used for years stopped working with it. Rather than wait or pay again, I built my own for the new menu bar. It's called Tuck, and it's free.
What it does:
- Three bars you arrange by dragging: Menu bar, Hidden and Always hidden, laid out exactly like the menu bar. The other icons move aside to show where yours will land.
- The Tuck Bar: click the chevron and your hidden icons drop down under the menu bar. Click one and its own menu opens, even if the app wasn't running.
- Search with Control-Option-Command-F: a few letters, Return.
- Your order is kept after restarts, macOS updates and app updates.
- Apple's own icons (Wi-Fi, battery, Control Center) hide like any other app's.
- Rules bring icons back on battery, with an app in front, or with an external display.
- When macOS refuses to show an app's icon, Tuck tells you which app and how to fix it.
No account, no analytics, nothing to buy. Native Swift, notarized, macOS 27 or later.
I'd love to hear what you'd want it to do next.
