How did you get your first paying client?

I am working on Taagly, we are one of the most flexible project management tools on market and we are trying to find our first paying clients. I am wondering if anyone has any insights on how to best approach this

Actually just booked our first client today. We focused on a niche customer segment, created a list of what they'd be searching for and attacked it with SEO until we gained traction. Now, if anyone has any bright idea how to get the next 10,000 clients, I am all ears
