30-year IT veteran turned SaaS founder — hey PH šŸ‘‹

by•

Hey Product Hunt community — I'm David, founder of DASTech LLC out of Wisconsin.

My background is about as far from "typical startup founder" as you can get. I spent 30+ years in enterprise IT — Windows Server, Active Directory, Microsoft 365, network infrastructure, the works. I built systems that had to work under pressure, with audit trails, automation, and guardrails baked in from day one.

A few years ago I started DASTech and began building SaaS products. Not because I had a flashy pitch deck or VC backing — because I kept running into problems I knew I could solve.

The first big one: managing social media across platforms as a founder is an absolute mess. Fragmented inboxes, scattered analytics, content creation eating hours I didn't have. So I built FlashHQ — an AI-powered social media management platform for small businesses, powered by Claude AI from Anthropic.

I also built FlashHQ using Claude Code and Claude.ai. I trusted Anthropic's tools enough during the build that I made Claude the core of the product itself.

A few things I'm working on beyond FlashHQ:

  • TraderVault.io — trading journal and analytics with a 7-model ML ensemble

  • TaxVault.io — quarterly tax prep built for freelancers and solopreneurs

  • Ride for Recovery — a nonprofit motorcycle charity I founded supporting people in recovery

We're launching FlashHQ on PH in the next few days. I'll be building completely in public — sharing every post, every result, every lesson along the way.

A genuine question for this community: what's the one thing you wish more founders were transparent about during a product launch? I want to get this right.

Happy to be here. Ask me anything.

— David
