🚀 Daily Drop: Making designs inclusive for everyone (Plus a quick tip!)

by•

Hi everyone! đź‘‹

I spent some time this week digging into the Color Blind Simulator tool on Huesnatch to polish it up. It’s one of the tools I’m really proud of, and with Global Accessibility Awareness Day coming up, I figured it’s the perfect time to spotlight it.

🎯 Why this matters:
1 in 12 men and 1 in 200 women have some form of color vision deficiency. That beautiful green/red interface you just designed? It might look completely muddy or indistinguishable to a huge portion of your users.

Here is a quick workflow I use now:

  1. Grab a screenshot of your current project.

  2. Drop it into the Color Blind Simulator on Huesnatch.

  3. Toggle through the 8 different vision types (Protanopia, Deuteranopia, Tritanopia, etc.).

  4. Adjust your palette until the contrast and information hierarchy holds up in all modes.

It’s a small step that makes a massive difference in user experience.

Question for you all:
What’s one accessibility “mistake” you see designers make repeatedly when it comes to color? Let’s share some learnings below! ⬇️
