Do timers make math puzzles more fun or more stressful?

I’m curious how others approach mental math games like Solve 24.

Do you prefer having unlimited time to think through solutions, or does a timer make the challenge more fun? Also interested in how people feel about head-to-head modes vs solo play when it comes to brain-training games.
