Does scale really make dating apps better or just louder?
Hey everyone on PH đź‘‹
We’re working on an AI-driven matchmaking approach at synch, and something keeps coming up in our internal conversations:
In dating apps, more users is always celebrated as success, but does scale actually improve the experience for users, or does it just increase noise?
We recently published a short blog about this idea that scale only becomes valuable when it’s used to improve compatibility, not just add options:
More profiles ≠more connection
More conversations ≠more outcomes
More choice doesn’t always mean better choice
Here’s the blog if you’d like the full context:
👉 Scale Matters in Matchmaking But Not the Way You Think

I’d love to hear your thoughts:
Do you think dating platforms should aim for maximum scale, or maximum relevance?
As users, do “more options” make you feel empowered or overwhelmed?
And for builders here: how do you approach scale without creating noise?
Curious to hear different perspectives! especially from folks building in AI or social products.
