Being consistent with content is harder than building features. Here me out.
Shipping a feature feels productive.
There’s momentum. There’s code.
There’s progress you can measure.
Content? You show up. You write. You post.
And most days, nothing happens.
No clear feedback loop. No passing test case.
No deploy notification saying “success.”
Just impressions. Maybe.
Building product rewards logic.
Content rewards patience.
With product, effort compounds technically.
With content, effort compounds socially and slowly.
It’s uncomfortable because builders like certainty.
But distribution is a muscle. And consistency is the real moat.
The hard part isn’t writing one great post.
It’s showing up when the last five didn’t move the needle.

Building gives you control. Distribution forces you to let go of it. I’ve noticed that shipping features feels measurable and logical - but content is emotional and social. The feedback loop is unpredictable.
Recently had one post bring in 100+ users overnight after weeks of “nothing.” That randomness is uncomfortable, but also powerful.

Yes, and what makes it even more difficult are Reddit / forums mods that are removing literally every post that contains any type of link, even if you're linking useful OSS tool, which is free to use and available on Github :D
