How do you actually discover security tools? (And what am I missing?)
Hey hunters! 👋
A few things I'm curious to hear from you:
What's your current process for discovering security tools?
Do you Google endlessly? Ask in Slack channels? Pay for analyst reports? I built CybersecTools to solve my own pain, but I want to know if I'm actually fixing the right problem.
What categories or tools are missing?
I've cataloged 3,150+ tools across 944 use cases, but security moves fast. What gaps are you seeing? What emerging categories should I prioritize?
How do you evaluate tools before buying?
Reviews are based on Effectiveness, Integrations, TCO, and Support—but are those the right pillars? What else matters when you're choosing between 10 SIEM options?
For security vendors lurking here:
What would make CybersecTools more valuable for you? Better analytics? More promotion options? I want this to work for both sides of the marketplace.
I'm here all day, ask me anything about building the directory, the tech stack, how I'm sourcing tools, or why I think Gartner's model is broken.
Let's make security tool discovery suck less.
