I am building Rawph: Learn with your friends effortlessly

Hi everyone,

I’m Abinash, and I’m building Rawph: a collaborative learning platform that makes studying with friends easy and fun. With Rawph, you can watch videos, discuss ideas, and brainstorm together in real time, all in one place.

The Story Behind Rawph:

My friend is doing her master’s in biology. She and her friend regularly study together. They watch YouTube videos on Cell Biology separately, then join a Google Meet call to discuss what they learned.

One day, while I was watching them study, I thought, what if YouTube, Google Meet, and a whiteboard were all in one place?

So, I designed a quick mockup. They loved it! After building a rough prototype, they started using it and found it really helpful for studying together.

That’s when I decided to build Rawph: a platform for everyone who loves learning with their friends.

Features on Left:

  1. YouTube Player: Watch YouTube videos together! Just paste a video link, and both you and your friends can watch and learn side by side.

  2. Controls:

    1. Mute/Unmute: Talk to each other through an audio call. Your mute status is shown next to your name in the participant list.

    2. Hand Raise: Change Video (Coming soon!) The current hand raise button will be replaced with a refresh button to switch videos easily.

    3. Exit: Leave the study session anytime with a single click.

    4. Participants List: See everyone in the session, their names, profile pictures, and whether they’re muted or not.

    5. Session link: At the bottom, you have the link to the session that you can copy and share with your friends to invite them to the session.

  3. Chat Windows: A simple chat panel for sharing quick thoughts, links, or notes while studying.

Features on Right:

  1. Whiteboard: A shared, real-time whiteboard for brainstorming, drawing, and explaining ideas together.

  2. Colour Picker: Change your pen colour instantly to make your notes or diagrams more expressive.

  3. Clear: Wipe the whiteboard clean with one tap to start fresh.

Launch Update

I am launching this week in my close circle to get some early feedback and get some demos for marketing material. Most importantly, it’s completely free during the private beta, and I’d love to hear your thoughts!

🚨 Introducing the most-awaited feature for Rawph.

Sync play, pause and seek.

After digging deep through the YouTube player API, I found a way that helps you sync play, pause and seek with your friend's video.

That means when you play, your friend's video automatically plays, similarly for pausing and seeking forward or backwards.
