🧩 I built a simple tool for Jira admins β€” would love your thoughts!

byβ€’

Hey everyone!

I’ve been working on a small developer tool aimed at Jira admins, teams, and solo builders who need a quick way to spin up a clean Jira sandbox for testing.

The idea was pretty simple:
Most Jira users need a safe environment to experiment, but creating a sandbox manually takes time. So I built a tool that automates the process and reduces it to just a few clicks.

What it does

  • Deploy any Jira Data Center version locally with one command β€” complete with database, cluster nodes, volumes, and configs

  • Supports Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL, and MSSQL, each with version-specific settings ready out of the box

  • Allows running multiple Jira DC instances at the same time, enabling parallel testing, QA flows, and development

  • Provides automated creation of demo/test data (users, projects, issues, groups) to speed up plugin QA and environment setup

  • Runs full production-like clusters β€” multi-node environments, reverse proxies, shared home handling, and realistic orchestration

  • Enables plugin testing across Jira versions, including timebomb licenses, compatibility checks, and cross-version behavior analysis

  • Offers advanced performance and scaling tests, letting you simulate real-world Jira Data Center behavior

  • Includes a professional backup & migration system, supporting both full DB migrations and cross-database migrations

  • Can replicate production data safely using sandbox backups or production template backups

  • Provides real-time logging, monitoring, and cluster control, making debugging far easier than with manual setups

  • Includes three CLI options (Bash, Node.js, Python) so teams can choose the interface that fits their workflow

  • Eliminates cloud dependency and heavy infrastructure, giving plugin developers and QA engineers full local control

Who it’s for

Anyone who works with Jira regularly β€” admins, developers, consultants, or teams testing new automations.

If you want to check it out

I’m launching it on Product Hunt today, and feedback would help me a lot:
