Is the monthly SaaS subscription model dead for AI tools?

We just launched Nostal Chat with a radical decision: NO monthly fees. Instead, we use a flexible credit system where credits never expire. We were tired of paying for idle bots on other platforms.

We believe users should only pay when the AI actually works (processes messages).

Makers and users: Do you prefer the predictability of a flat monthly fee ($20/mo), or the flexibility of a "pay-as-you-go" model?
