Added AI features to make users more efficient? That's great... until you realize they need fewer seats but get 10x more value.
The problem:
5 AI-powered users = $500/month
20 basic users = $2,000/month
Guess who's getting more value? π€
Your AI works so well that customers are downsizing teams but upsizing results. Per-seat pricing punishes you for building great AI.
Quick question: Has anyone adapted their pricing model to this new normal? π

Ooo good provocation!
I literally just saw an email from @YouMind describing their new pricing:
...we've transitioned from beta pricing to our official pricing structure, bringing several key changes:Free Tier: All registered users receive a fixed Credit allowance and access to core featuresPro & Max Plans: Existing Pro users are automatically upgraded, and we've introduced the Max plan for higher usage demandsCredit System: Different membership tiers include varying Credit amounts, consumed when using AI features

@chrismessinaΒ This is EXACTLY what I'm talking about! π
YouMind nailed it with that credit system - they're actually pricing based on AI usage instead of just seats.
I love that they:
β Give everyone a baseline with the free tier
β Charge for what actually costs them money (the AI processing)
β Scale pricing with value delivered, not team size
This is such a smart move - especially that automatic upgrade for existing Pro users. No one likes pricing surprises!
