Looking for collaborators to build Skillset - a skill progression app

by

Hi everyone,

I’m currently developing an app idea called Skillset, and I’m looking to connect with people who might be interested in collaborating on the early stages of the project.

The core idea behind Skillset is to create a platform focused entirely on tracking and developing real-world skills over time. Most productivity and habit apps track daily actions, but they rarely show how someone is actually progressing in a skill. Skillset aims to solve that by giving users a clear system for seeing how their abilities grow.

The concept is built around a skill progression system. Users choose skills they want to develop - for example coding, language learning, music, fitness, or any other skill - and the app tracks their growth through practice sessions, milestones, and measurable progress.

Some of the core ideas for the platform include:

• Individual skill profiles with levels and milestones
• Progress tracking based on practice time, completed exercises, or projects
• XP and leveling tied to consistent development
• Visual dashboards showing improvement over time
• A personal skill portfolio that reflects long-term growth

The long-term vision is to build something that feels less like a typical productivity tool and more like a personal skill development system, where people can actually see the progress they’ve made across different areas of their life.

Right now I’m in the early stages of shaping the MVP and exploring how the system should work from both a product and user experience perspective. I’m interested in connecting with developers, designers, and builders who enjoy working on early-stage ideas and want to help shape something from the ground up.

If the concept sounds interesting to you, I’d love to connect and talk more about it.
