Synaptive β A personal knowledge graph for the content that shaped your thinking
Hey PH community π
I built Synaptive (https://synaptive.app) β a free tool that lets you map the books you read, movies you watch, podcasts you listen to, and draw connections between them.
The idea is simple: you read Sapiens, then watched Inception, and felt a connection. No algorithm made that connection β you did. Synaptive makes it visible.
How it works:
β’ Create a knowledge graph (e.g. "Books That Changed Me")
β’ Add content by searching real APIs (Open Library, TMDB, Spotify, YouTube, etc.)
β’ Write a personal note β not a review, but what it gave you
β’ Draw connections between content and explain why they're linked
β’ Share your graph publicly at synaptive.app/u/yourname
Tech stack for the curious: Next.js 14, TypeScript, PostgreSQL, Prisma, React Flow, Tailwind, NextAuth, deployed on DigitalOcean with Docker.
Would love to hear what you think β and if you try it, I'd be curious to see what connections you make.
