The "Lunatic" Who Loves Email: Why We Built BuiltDiffernt

Hey Product Hunt! David here.

I’ll be honest, nobody graduates with dreams of starting a cold email agency. When I tell people at parties what I do, I usually get that polite, glazed-over look before they ask if I’m the "Nigerian Prince" in their spam folder.

Joking aside—call me a lunatic—but I love email. I’m like those Philip Morris executives Jim Collins interviewed in Good to Great: undeterred by the "brutal facts" of the industry because I know the power of the product. Email remains the world’s most effective way to reach anyone, anywhere. One message can change your life; I’ve seen it happen.

But let’s face the "brutal facts" of 2026: Email is abused. It’s noisy. And for most founders, the technical side (DKIM, warm-ups, deliverability) is a soul-crushing distraction.

That’s why we created BuiltDiffernt.

Check it out: https://www.builtdiffernt.com

After 50,000 campaigns at our agency and a year of 100-hour work weeks, we’ve moved from service to software. We’ve distilled everything we know into Bob, our AI GTM Manager.

Why we’re actually "BuiltDiffernt":

  • Bob isn’t a chatbot: He’s a juggernaut. He manages your infrastructure, fixes your DNS records, and adjusts warm-up patterns intelligently so you stay out of spam.

  • Fresh Data Only: We don’t use stale Apollo APIs. We scrape fresh, publicly available data (integrated with Companies House) to find directors at their actual trading names.

  • Private IP Infrastructure: You get your own email accounts on your own IPs. No "bad neighborhoods."

  • The Master Inbox: Bob doesn't just send; he handles objections and books meetings on your link while you sleep.

Our Mission: “To create a world where bold ideas don’t die in the space between two people who never met.”

We are currently in Beta (major bugs are dead, edges are being polished). We’re looking for hungry founders who have a great product and just need to find the right people to say "yes."

I’d love to hear your thoughts, answer questions, or just chat about the future of outbound!

All love,

David
