War.direct – Real-time conflict intelligence dashboard for the Iran war
Hey Product Hunt!
I built the first version of this in a few hours when the US-Israel strikes on Iran broke out on February 28.
My daughter's school is in Europe and she was traveling through the Gulf via Etihad — I needed a single screen where I could track everything: flights, strikes, news, and whether airports were open.
That quick dashboard for one anxious dad turned into something much bigger. Friends and family saw it, asked for the link, shared it forward. Within 48 hours we had 200,000+ visitors. So I put it on a proper domain, hardened the security, and decided to make it a free, non-commercial public service.
What's inside:
- 25+ live TV channels — Al Jazeera, BBC, CNN, Reuters, Press TV, RT and more
- Battlespace map with 100+ verified strike markers, each linked to its news source
- Live flight radar over the Middle East via adsb.lol
- Naval vessel tracking — 22 ships including carriers and destroyers
- AI-curated timeline — GPT-4o analyzes 10 RSS feeds every 30 minutes, extracts strikes and events, verifies
against trusted sources
- Reddit OSINT dispatches from r/worldnews, r/geopolitics
- Emergency helplines for 12 countries
- 7 dark themes (Spotify, Apple TV, NASA, Mocha, Deep Lake, Slate Night)
- Keyboard shortcuts, text size accessibility, timezone auto-detection
- Full mobile support
This isn't a startup. There's no monetization plan. No ads. No data collection. Just a dashboard that we want
in as many hands as possible — especially for the millions of people in the region who need real-time
information to stay safe.
We'd love your feedback. And if you know anyone in the affected regions, please share the link.
