What are you using for bookkeeping right now?

by

Just asking, QuickBooks? Google Sheets? Something you hacked together with AI?

We built a very simple AI-driven tool and want to hear what’s working (or not) for early-stage teams.

What does the AI tool do that QuickBooks, Numeral, etc. don't?

Saule Ibrayeva

@steveb simplicity and low pricing, plus a free personalized calendar and automated reminders for early-stage startup founders

That sounds exactly like something I’ve been waiting for!

Bookkeeping can be such a time sink at this stage — really looking forward to seeing what your AI-driven tool can do 🙌

@ninaaaa0913 try taxhero.vc/checkin answer a few questions and get a tax calendar for your startup (it's free).

Good luck on your launch!

@salleisha I’ll give it a try — thanks for sharing!

Right now we’re relying on a connected Google Sheet that pulls in data from Stripe and Mercury! works well enough for tracking cash flow and expenses.

All the receipt/document collection side is handled by our own tool @Receiptor AI especially helpful since we’ve got a mix of inbox receipts and physical ones.

Right now, we're using a mix of QuickBooks and internal automations built on top of Growstack. QuickBooks handles the basics well, but we needed more flexibility around tagging, reporting, and syncing with other ops tools — so we built lightweight AI agents to automate things like categorization and monthly summaries.

Honestly, most early-stage tools feel either too manual or too enterprise. If your tool can simplify the back-office drag without needing a finance degree, I’m all ears. Always open to trying smarter, founder-friendly alternatives.
