What’s the one “boring” startup idea you wish someone would build?

by

AI is quietly eating the “boring” parts of startups, and that’s where the real value is.

Most people talk about AI in the context of flashy features: code generation, image tools, marketing copy. But the real impact might be happening in the background.

We’ve been building TaxHero AI, where we use hashtag#n8n + hashtag#OpenAI to automate things like bookkeeping, categorization, and tax deadline tracking for early-stage startups.

It’s not glamorous, but the leverage is insane. AI doesn’t replace founders; it replaces the 80% of admin tasks that drag them down.

What we're noticing: the boring stuff (compliance, ops, accounting) is finally becoming programmable.

Would love to hear what other founders or engineers are seeing in their own stacks. Is AI quietly taking over your “least exciting but most painful” work?

Everyone wants AI that wows, not AI that works. The boring tools don’t trend! They just quietly make founders breathe easier. And that’s exactly why they’ll win.
