What’s your favorite category of products on Product Hunt?

by

When you’re browsing the Product Hunt leaderboard or checking out top launches, which category of products actually makes you stop and click?

Example, yesterday @lazverry told me on my forum thread that they are a creator, so they spend a lot of time looking into Design & Creatives and Productivity.

Do you also come on Product Hunt to search for a specific category of products?

It could be:

  • Dev tools

  • Productivity apps

  • Design tools

  • Finance

  • AI / LLM tools

  • Mobile apps

  • No-code / low-code

  • Marketing and Sales

Or something else entirely? See the full list of categories here.

Share in the comments which category do you keep coming back to, and why?

Dev tools and productivity, almost exclusively. When you're building alone everything that saves you 20 minutes a day compounds fast, so I naturally gravitate toward anything that helps me ship quicker or automate the boring parts of my workflow.

AI/LLM tools have taken over recently though. Half my browsing on PH now is just checking what other people are building with AI because the space moves so fast that missing a week feels like missing a quarter.

I rarely click on marketing or design tools honestly. Not because they're not good , I just haven't reached the stage where I need them yet. Still deep in the building phase.

I guess @rohanrecommends answer is clear for me: No-code / low-code & AI / LLM tools - @Needle XD

i tend to build in "social & community" and honestly find that space the most creative.

Great question! For me it's always Investing and Productivity and honestly, the two are deeply connected in my world.

I'm building REP Helper (rephelper.ai), a tool that helps real estate investors track and document hours to qualify for IRS deductions. It sits right at the intersection of both categories: it's a productivity tool on the surface but the outcome is a tax strategy that can save investors tens of thousands of dollars a year.

So when I'm browsing PH, I'm naturally drawn to anything that helps people manage their money smarter or get more done with less friction. Those two categories consistently have the highest signal to noise ratio for me. 🙌

Curious, do you find a lot of overlap between Finance and Productivity in what you're seeing on the leaderboard?

It's usually marketing and sales for me.
