Why hiring feels broken and what can actually fix it?

by

A few years ago, I was job hunting for months and it opened my eyes to how painful the process has become.

Ghost jobs. Endless applications. Just one feedback - thanks, Atlassian. Unclear timelines. It often feels like candidates are left guessing while their time and effort go unnoticed.

That experience inspired me to start building Democruit, a candidate-first recruitment platform. I dream of a system where:

🚫 No ghost jobs: Every posting is real and active.

📊 Transparency through data: Candidates can see how often a company actually hires.

🔍 Hiring process upfront: Know the steps, timeline, and expectations before applying.

Respect for your time: Shortlisted candidates are compensated for interviews.

🌍 A community-first approach: Recruitment that works for people, not just companies.

I believe we can build something better - a hiring experience based on fairness, trust, and transparency.

💭 So, what do you think the ideal hiring experience should look like?

What would make you say, “Finally, someone fixed recruiting”?
