You're not bad at learning vocabulary. You're using the wrong method. ☠️

I learned this the hard way after forgetting 90% of the words I spent months studying.

Here's the thing: your brain doesn't store information just because you've seen it. Highlighting words, writing them down once, even using them in a sentence - none of that guarantees retention.

What actually works is active recall at specific intervals. It's called spaced repetition, and it's backed by decades of cognitive science.

The problem? Doing it manually is tedious. Creating flashcards, tracking review schedules, organizing decks... most people give up before they see results.

I wrote about why we forget words so easily and what actually makes them stick permanently:

If you've ever felt frustrated watching vocabulary slip away after working so hard to learn it, this post explains exactly why it happens and how to fix it.

Has anyone else experienced this? Learning words only to forget them weeks later?

This explains exactly what I experienced. I blamed myself for forgetting words but it was really the method. When I switched to spaced repetition, vocabulary finally stuck instead of disappearing after a few weeks.

@laiba_asghar That's Great! You may also give WordFlippin a shot! It does the busy work of manually creating and scheduling flashcards.
