Don't buy this app. The developer updates their app frequently, and renames it, and charge you, for example, Coherence, Coherence Pro, Coherence Pro 2, Coherence X, etc. You will be charged by every SIMILAR app. I can tell you, After several months, there will be Coherence X 2. How Greedy. :-(

@sunnyheart It's more likely after a year they'll update v2, and continue to support the older apps.

@sunnyheart This is an unfair criticism - we release a major update exactly once a year, and opt for optional, discounted paid upgrades as opposed to subscription pricing. You will find few users with this criticism. Additionally, we continue to support the previous years version for at least a year after launch of the next (so, Coherence Pro 2 will be supported until at least May 2021).

What is the added benefit from using the built-in functionality within Chrome to create "App Shortcuts" that are also standalone, allow me to use extensions like 1Password, Keep, etc...", personalise both the Name and Icon... etc? Are they enough to justify the cost of this app?

@buckyrocks The primary benefit is the ability to keep them isolated from the rest of your workflow. This is relevant from both a privacy and a workflow perspective.

@buckyrocks @bzg0515 what does that mean? I have created a bunch of "App Shortcuts" here: chrome://apps and then change their icon in the Finder. My command-tab workflow is great as they are look and act like separate apps.

@buckyrocks @briansugar These are not shortcuts. They are isolated, independent, individualized applications with their own name, icons, bundle IDs, etc on macOS. You can also create 'standard' macOS type windows, selectively distribute extensions, bump non-primary URLs to your default browser (even if it isn't Chrome), and use tools like Choosy for creating workflow schemes.

I really wanted to like this product, but every version has been buggy. The latest update immediately corrupts Chrome extensions and some app properties can't be edited once the app is created, notably Google sign-in. Which renders this software useless if you need to repair corrupt Chrome extensions.

@chanjohnathan Hi John, Google sign-in can be updated within your Coherence app and using the app editor in the Coherence tool (this is bugged in the latest release - but the current internal build fixes and you can use the previous build to change bzgapps.com/downloads). In particular, I agree the last two builds have been buggy due to our changing of the engine but continuing to improve. Please stay tuned for the next update (probably this week) as I think it addresses most problems.

Coherence was already good, and X provides some nice features! I didn't realize both it and Unite were available on Setapp (which I love). The site does a good job explaining the differences. I wish I'd checked before upgrading but...small price to pay to support a good app with solid communication from the creator!
