Coherence X6 for macOS - Turn websites into Mac apps powered by your browser

Hi Product Hunt! 👋 Today we’re launching Coherence X6, a major new release of our Mac app for turning websites into standalone apps powered by the Chromium browsers you already use. Coherence has always been built around a simple idea: sometimes you want the power and compatibility of Chrome, but you don’t want your most important tools buried inside a browser full of tabs. With X6, we focused on making those apps feel dramatically more at home on your Mac. A few highlights: 💻 Web apps that behave like Mac apps We completely rebuilt the engine behind Coherence apps. They now support normal drag-to-Dock behavior, display their own icons correctly throughout macOS and Stage Manager, and behave much more naturally as standalone apps. 🌐 Bring your browser with you Create a new app using the browser setup you already have. X6 can import profiles, logins, bookmarks, and extensions from Chrome, Brave, Edge, and other Chromium browsers — and you can choose exactly which extensions come along. ↗️ Powerful new Link Routing Links are no longer limited to simple “stay here or open in my browser” rules. Route individual sites and URLs to the current app, another Coherence app, your default browser, or a specific browser. 🎨 Make every app your own Each app can have its own appearance, browser profile, extensions, window behavior, and settings. X6 also adds per-app dark mode and custom accent colors. We’ve also redesigned Coherence itself to make creating and managing apps much simpler, made the companion extension essentially invisible and automatically configured, added Vivaldi and Helium support, and improved compatibility across Chromium browsers. If you use Gmail, Notion, ChatGPT, Slack, Google Workspace, or another web app all day and wish it could simply live as its own app on your Mac, that’s what Coherence is built for.
