Vidsy-Pipes - Local AI pipeline inspections with camera and video analysis

by
Vidsy-Pipes is a Windows 11 desktop app built for pipeline inspection teams who want fast, reliable analysis without depending on the cloud. Everything runs locally on the inspector’s workstation—no uploads, no waiting. You can analyze live camera feeds or recorded inspection runs, detect events like connections, cracks or roots, and take precise measurements (including angular rotation) as you go or after the run.

Hey Product Hunt 👋 I’m Jan, a solo developer, and today I’m excited to launch **Vidsy-Pipes**. I built Vidsy-Pipes for pipeline inspection teams who need fast, reliable video analysis **without relying on the cloud**. Everything runs locally on Windows 11—so inspectors can analyze live camera feeds or recorded runs, even when they’re fully offline. The original trigger came from real customer requests: they needed a practical, accurate way to measure **angular rotation** during inspections, while on the road. That problem became the starting point for a larger vision-based system I’ve been working on, and Vidsy-Pipes is the first focused release of that effort. All training data was collected and annotated using the application itself, and all AI models were trained directly within the app. The model architecture is **custom-built and domain-agnostic**, designed to generalize beyond pipe inspections rather than being hard-coded for a single workflow. With Vidsy-Pipes, you can: * Analyze live or recorded inspection footage * Detect events like cracks, roots, connections, and water flow * Take accurate measurements, including angular rotation * Run everything locally on CPU or GPU There’s a trial available for the people in the field. Whoever you are, I’d love to hear feedback from you. Thanks for checking it out—and happy to answer any questions! 🙌
