Years ago there were multiple available free APIs for vehicle listings, but with some companies closed down their API and others eliminating their free tier and increased prices. We knew there had to be a better option for people to get started building online automotive experiences, but we couldn't find one that met our needs. So we created our own listings API with a generous free tier because we want to lower the barriers to entry to unlock the next generation of automotive commerce. We're scraping the data from many different data sources, and normalizing it into a common data format. Today this just have coverage in the US market, but we're working on adding a number of additional international sources next.
Awesome! did you build the scrapers in house or use off the shelf stuff? I've been playing with Zyte and it's pretty fun
Hi. I work for a company in the UK that sells software to car dealers. Is this only for the US market? Also the majority ok the EU uses Cap Data.
