Is Votap secretly corrupt?

Is Votap secretly corrupt?

When people first saw Votap, some of the reactions weren’t about the product itself. They were about trust.

→ Who owns it?

→ Is it independent?

→ Can it be manipulated?

→ Is this just another tool to push some narrative?

At first, I’ll be honest — it felt a bit discouraging. Some people dismissed it without even trying it.

But then I thought about it more.

They’re right.

People have been let down too many times when it comes to politics, media, and systems that are supposed to represent them. So when something new shows up, especially something like Votap, skepticism is the natural reaction.

And honestly, it should be.

If we want people to use something like this, we have to be extremely transparent. Who we are, how it works, and what we’re trying to build.

We’re just independent founders trying to create a platform where people can express their opinion freely — no matter what it is.

Download Votap from the App Store if you want to see it for yourself.

More tomorrow.

Don’t think asking if Votap is corrupt is wrong. I’ve asked similar questions about other platforms too. For me, the important part is how openly you answer these concerns. If you keep being transparent, I think people like me will slowly start trusting it more.

@balakrisnan_h As you should. I agree we should emphasize being transparent as much as possible.

To me, Votap isn’t proven corrupt or trustworthy yet. It’s just new. I think people, including me, need time and real experience before deciding. Your transparency matters but long-term actions will matter more. I’m open but I’ll be paying attention to how it evolves.

@jack_mark8 Totally fair. Let our actions speak rather than plain words!

Downloading now to try it out. What makes Votap different from existing polling apps?

Alexandr Cizek

@johanna_john1 Votap is an early stage app still but here are some of the differences: Votap is a sentiment market. You vote on politicians using "timed votes" which expire. It is like having a position bought on the stock market. Votap allows you to have a continuous 24/7 vote on a politician. It is supposed to be dynamic. It is not like "ok I will just downvote a politician because I don't like him and that's it". Your vote expresses your current mood about the politician which you can change anytime you want. That is just one of the things we plan to do differently!

Cool idea, but how do you prevent manipulation or bot activity?

Alexandr Cizek

@ashir_murtaza1 Thank you very much! There are mechanisms to prevent this like rate limiting, behavior analysis etc. Unfortunately I cannot talk about concrete strategies for Votap publicly. That would make the attacker's job way easier haha.
