The idea is simple: before starting a task, guess how long it’ll take, set the timer, and get to work. Then compare your guess with reality and notice all the little things that ate your time along the way.

I’m a fan of Alex Hormozi, and he recommended doing this: apparently he has timers like these around his workplaces.

My results so far? Most things take me about 2x longer than I expect. 💀

Maybe I’m getting distracted. Maybe my estimates are wildly optimistic. Probably both. You definitely don’t need the gadget: your phone works fine.

But try it for a day: guess, time yourself, compare. You might be surprised how bad you are at predicting your own time. 🤣
