Whispen - Dictate. Translate. Take notes. Ask anything. All by voice.

by
Whispen 2.0 — voice typing on Mac, iPhone & iPad with one account. Three things other dictation apps don't do: • Translate while you speak — say it in Chinese, paste in English. No copy-paste step. • Ask Whispen — hold ⌃⌥Space, ask anything. On-device AI + web search, with citations. • Voice Notes — speak → searchable rich-text notes.

Hi Product Hunt 👋 I'm CS — solo maker behind Whispen. I built Whispen because I'm bilingual and tired of the copy-paste shuffle: dictate in Chinese → copy → ChatGPT → "translate to English" → copy → paste into the message. Every. Single. Time. So I built a keyboard that does it inline. People liked it, but they kept asking: "Can it work on Mac?" → I built the Mac app (signed, notarized, Sparkle auto-updates). "Can I ask it things, not just dictate?" → Ask Whispen (⌃⌥Space). Uses Apple Intelligence on-device when available, falls back to cloud. Web search via Brave with citations. "Where do my dictations go?" → Voice Notes — Notion- style, fully searchable, RTF. "中文/日本語/Deutsch UI?" → 14 languages. What's new since the last launch: • Mac app from scratch • Translate + Ask Whispen + Notes (all new) • 1,000 chars/week free for signed-in users (was Pro-only) • Two-layer polish: regex baseline (offline, instant) + AI semantic layer — works for everyone, not just Pro • Cross-device sync, Sparkle auto-updates Free to try, no credit card. Would love feedback — especially from bilingual folks or mixed-language teams. — CS
