The story behind WishPlace: why I’m building an inverse housing market
There are some buildings where I would love to leave. They are expensive, probably. But who knows if someone there would like to sell the apartment at the price I can afford?
And if there would be one, how could I know he exists without visiting any agency of the city, hoping that that person went already there, or without visiting all the possible websites in which he would advertise it?
I am not planning to sell my apartment now. But maybe someone is looking for an apartment where I leave, at a price I wouldn't say not, because it could allow me to buy an apartment in the place I really love. As today, you will never know if someone is interested in buying your apartment, and at which price, until you decide to sell it, by visiting an agency, or post the advertisement in a website.
This system doesn't work. Finding the place you dream is just luck and a lot of time and stress in a market made by the agencies, not by people. A lot of advertisements made by amazing pictures not corresponding to the reality. A lot of visits after discovering that you didn't match the owner's desires to rent that apartment.
So this is why I came up with this idea of inverse housing market, in which you'll just need to add some places where you would really like to leave, and some minimum requirements. And someone will get in touch with you.
Ah, and no more spam! It will be the owner to reveal the contact and the apartment details only once it is the right moment, via a secure chat.
