Build 5, 6, or 7 letter words around 2 “locked” letters. Find as many as you can. There are 3 game modes: Unlimited practice, Puzzle of the Day (same puzzle for all users everywhere), and Progressive—an untimed mode for when you want to slow down and really dig in.

I’m a massive word game enthusiast. Wordle and Spelling Bee are both great, but I wanted to be able to find words with more dynamic constraints. Sometimes I want to find words quickly, against the clock with common prefixes or suffixes, but other times I want to contemplate the rare word possibilities without a timer and a chill vibe.
I built Wordaround for that purpose. Having the two “locked” letters in your word forces you to make words _around_ those letters. It can be very approachable for casual players or extremely difficult even for massive word nerds. The Progressive mode of gameplay grew out of the desire to work with hard combinations of letters, that might require significant time and thought without worrying much about how many words I find.
It was also important to me that this game work well on iPads, especially with hardware keyboards attached. So iPad users: each letter key does what you would expect, as do the left and right arrow keys, and delete. Spacebar toggles the Auto Advance switch. If hardware keyboards are your jam for word games, give Wordaround a shot.
