by
X Account Labeler is a lightweight, privacy-first Chrome extension that lets you take control of your timeline. Instantly highlight your favorite creators with vibrant colors, assign Custom Display Names to easily spot bots or friends, or use "Ghost Mode" to completely hide specific accounts without blocking them. All data is securely stored locally on your device with zero tracking. It's the ultimate tool to clean up your X feed and never miss a tweet from the people you care about.

Hey Product Hunt! 👋 I built X Account Labeler to solve a problem I was facing every day: my X timeline was getting too noisy, and I was losing track of the accounts I actually wanted to read amidst all the bots, lookalike accounts, and general clutter. I wanted a way to instantly spot my favorite creators and smoothly ignore the noise without resorting to officially blocking or muting people. Here is what you can do with it: 🎨 Color-Code: Apply one of 10 vibrant background colors to any @username to make them pop on your timeline. 🎭 Custom Names: Rename accounts locally right on your screen (e.g., change someone's display name to "Tech Guru" or "Annoying Bot"). 👻 Ghost Mode: Assign the Red label to completely hide an account's tweets from your feed, while still being able to visit their profile. 🔒 100% Private: No accounts required, no data collection, entirely local to your browser. I built this to be extremely lightweight so it doesn't slow down the browser at all. I would absolutely love to hear your feedback, feature requests, or any questions you might have! Thanks for checking it out! 🚀
