What are the biggest barriers preventing us from living forever?

@russfrushtick Scientific knowledge still needs to grow about how the human body is best repaired. Scientists have learned a lot in recent times, but there's much more to be done. What are the barriers to that? Funding is always the biggest one, but getting the best minds thinking about it can be a barrier as well. Now that Google (Calico) and others are starting to make it cool, that is helping a lot.
what are the biggest critiques of your work that you are sympathetic to, if any?

@eriktorenberg Most people aren't that critical. It's hard to argue that being healthy for a longer period of time is bad. If there is push-back, it's usually because the person isn't convinced longevity technologies can work or because they don't like their life and so they don't really want more of it.
@jeffumbro I sit on the board of Singularity University alongside Ray Kurzweil. He's super-bright and he is starting to look younger to me every time I see him.
