Conversely, they do not want leads from startups who paid to be on a list.

Pros:

straight forward concept

Cons:

Angel investors do not tend to seek deal flow this way. They largely rely on a referral network or a high-level association.

Thank you for your opinion. To be clear, startups can not pay to be on this list, nor is this standard deal flow. This service wasn't/isn't available to investors, so they've had to rely on their network in the past, which statically hasn't played out very well. Having a diverse range of vetted deal flow, as an angel investor myself, is a wise idea.

For the last year and a half, I’ve been scouting startups and curating lists of the best investment opportunities from all over North America, through Accelerators, Studios, VCs/Funds, LPs, GPs, angels and inbound pitches from founders. I’ve been sharing those deals with a network of VCs. After closing a few deals, I realized, I should charge for this stuff!
