@danlee101 how are you planning to manage your relations with art makers? fixed fees?
I was just looking for a medium like this to highlight the animated art (video portraits) that I make @99Drawing
@yassinelanda@99drawing We deeply respect artists, art makers and the art community as a whole. Thus we are currently working closely with them to find the most suitable compensation model. We’ll be providing this information to the community very soon!

@danlee101@99drawing congratulation on achieving your goal on Kickstarter. Best of luck for the final week. I will be waiting for that information!

I have thought of getting one of these digital frames before, but the charging solution here is really the kicker. The only negative...and this isn't really your fault...is that I have to hang it above an existing plug. Not sure how the 3 panel one would work...who had 3 plugs that close together?
Nature of the beast I suppose.
The ambient light sensor is really nice as well...would be annoying if it was super bright while I watched a movie.
@bigpixel Hey David, each Acanvas art display comes with a charging dock, which has a 11 ft (3.3m) cord that plugs into the nearest outlet and allows for plenty of flexibility around the home. Thus, no need to hang the Acanvas art display directly above existing outlets :)
Hello ProductHunters! Dan here, CEO & co-founder of Acanvas.
Thanks for showing Acanvas that PH love.
Our team is really thrilled to be invited to this vibrant community. I'm personally looking forward to some honest feedback.
If you have any questions about the Acanvas art display or the art-streaming platform, don't be shy, I'm your guy :)
@kristofertm Thanks for the vote of confidence! We went through quite a few iterations to arrive at the form factor you see today! It is extremely quiet as well!

IMHO for it to work it has to support retina (density) resolutions, wide gamut and auto color calibration — similar to what you have in the new small iPad Pro or the adaptive colorimeter that professional photographers have been using for over a decade.
By the way if I am going to have wire a plug at the base why don't do the wiring directly to the back and avoid the hassle of the charging system all together.
I once had one of those high end picture frames, well I still have it in some box somewhere, I used it for a month and forgot about it... Pictures and artwork looked much better in a proper print, on the retina iPad I had then or on my old calibrated 30" Apple HD Cinema Display, I just could not bear the difference.
Please, don't make the same mistake all manufacturers did them (think everyone was nearsighted, no we are not, and specially people fond of fine arts are willing to go through the hassle of wearing glasses to see art with near 20/20 acuity).
@bengillin Great question. I personally love what Electric Objects had done with the EO1, and sincerely believe that we're all exploring this new frontier to help with the expansion of art.
For Acanvas, getting the cord out of the picture (no pun intended) was a huge part of that. In addition, we want to make art discovery as simple as possible with Art Station streaming. It's like Pandora for art, a continuous flow of artworks streamed onto your wall.
We also made sure to include fun features such as "remote framing", where you can literally post artworks, personal images and even picture-notes to the Acanvas art display on your wall from anywhere in the world (move over Facebook, just kidding). The possibilities are endless.
All of this comes in a tight, custom-framable package that's easy to hang on your wall. Unbox, hang it on a strong nail and you're done!

Chucking an image on a screen and hanging it from the wall isn't art. It's the illusion of art.

@andreasduess You join a long line of pedantic people decrying the democratization of art.

@shloky Oh dear, are we name calling now? How very fifth grade of you.
Here, let me try: And you join a long line of people who don't know what art is. This is decoration, maybe, but not art. Art has nothing to do with price, but it does have to do with original thinking. There's absolutely nothing wrong with decoration either, but call it what it is.
