I am very excited to launch my first product on Product Hunt! This is my first time posting despite being a longtime lurker, so bear with me!
So, I've been quite unhappy with my job and have been looking for a new one for a while. My field is Data Science (2-3 year of experience) and, even though some may say it's "hot" right now, the market is still super competitive.
I found that when I was applying, I was always submitting the same info and that I was often: (1) losing track of where I was applying, (2) spending way too much time on job applications with little control over the final outcome I was seeing, and (3) getting tired/discouraged when having to personalise my resume for each job. So my childhood best friend — who is going through a similar thing as me — and I decided to start our own side-hustle and build Ace (aceapp.ai): it's basically Hinge but for jobs. You swipe right when you like a job we recommend, swipe left if you don't. Once you swipe right, we take care of tailoring your resume for the role as well as a cover letter. When you're ready to apply, we dispatch an AI browser agent to fill in the details for you.
We keep track of your application processes and their statuses, as well as application frequency, which is useful data for people who like visualisations of how productive they have been.
This took us one year to make (we were both working full-time jobs, tbf). Anyway, if we do our jobs right, we'll be the first two people Ace gets out of a job. Would love feedback from anyone who's been in the trenches: do the three pain points we mentioned resonate with you? If not, what else made job hunting feel completely random/out of your control?
