My grandfather was called Joseph. When he died I was 30. There was nothing left behind not a note, not a recording, not a word for any of us.
I spent years thinking about that silence. So I built something.
afterpage.co.uk lets you record a video, voice note, or written letter for someone you love. It stores it securely. A physical card arrives in the post with a unique code on it. You put the card with your will. When the time comes, whoever has the card visits the site, enters the code, and your message is there waiting for them.
I'm not a tech company. I'm someone who missed his grandfather's voice and decided to do something about it.

honestly this is a really thoughtful concept, but one thing i'd want is some kind of scheduled check-in so the recipient knows the message exists and isn't a random surprise years later that might feel jarring. like a heads up sent to them after a grace period or once the delivery is confirmed, basically just so it's handled gently

One thing I'd love to see is the option to schedule a check-in reminder every few years, so I can update my message or confirm my delivery preferences are still accurate. It's a thoughtful service, and that little nudge would give real peace of mind that everything is still set up the way I want it.

The idea behind this is genuinely touching, and I love that there's no subscription tied to something so meaningful. The physical card feels like a thoughtful touch rather than just another digital service.
