Hey everyone!
I built anonity for my friend group initially but decided to open it up for the general public.
I always wanted to carve out a place in the Internet for me, my friends and my loved ones and that´s how I landed on anonity, a private social media where you can build beautiful full trees filled with memories, images, videos or even documents.
It functions a lot like a shared drive with a bit of flair, each moment is a thread anyone can add more photos or just post and have fun.
It´s meant to be fun! Engaging with lots of gamification features like XP, daily and weekly quests and lots of other achievements.
Anyway, anonity stands as an eternal resting place of groups, where every post is recorded forever in a shared tree that I tried to make beautiful! It is for me but if it isn´t for you let me know! I´ll add more tree templates as time goes on, right now there´s only one!
Anonity is a project built by me for my friends, but turns out I did it for you too! It´s currently fully free, but I will add billing if you show enough interest.

A really strong idea and concept. It feels like a lived, shared, and timeless 'photobook' in an age where everything is reduced to drives, chat logs, and old phones.

I love the idea of a private social space where memories and moments are preserved in a shared tree with people you actually care about. The combination of invite only trees, public options, and fun gamification makes it feel much more meaningful than a scrolling feed.
A quick question. How does it differ from private groups that you can create on WhatsApp, Telegram or similar apps?

Great question, all those apps are strictly messaging apps, which kind of are the current idea of social media, X and Insta are mostly feed based with a chat to share stuff.
Anonity functions more like a shared drive with a lot of admin controls, a chat for each tree and direct messaging.
It´s a bit of an all in one solution! To sharing, storing, messaging while remaining in total control of our privacy.

Hmmmm, mostly how fun it was to build a tree with friends, reminiscing of old times, digging up photos, the urgency to go to anonity and fill in a moment with a movie night just to make sure we record it.
It´s meant to last forever!
Everything you do in a tree will be available to you, your group and possibly future generations.

@curiouskitty That's a great question. As a security professional, the biggest 'after' is Data Sovereignty. On WhatsApp/Google, your memories are part of a giant data-mining machine. By building on a private, dedicated space like Anonity, the security perimeter is much tighter. It’s the difference between a glass house and a private vault.
