@mightyalex Sorry for the confusion here -- none of the featured profiles are fake. Lucy or I personally know all those people. We've made an explicit effort _not_ to do any fake profiles because we've seen dating apps do it and it's good for nobody. I'm sorry that some of the people look fake though.

I like the clean simple dating pages. But when you submit an application, the person basically makes a judgement off your twitter, facebook, instagram, and/or linkedin? Where's the cover letter? :) Seriously, I think there's something to that first message, what do you want, what caught your interest, why you think it's a potential match, etc? Also, if I was in the market, I would want to include my Quora page. People's answers on there reveal a lot about who they are.

this is the first time i've created a dating profile that feels genuine. which makes me believe that other people have the same experience. which makes me believe i won't be catfished...

that's pretty incredible for a dating app

Pros:

gorgeous interface, incredibly straightforward ux of asking someone out

Cons:

not a huge fan of the green owl

Great concept! I think the way the interface is designed, it has great potential to facilitate more deeper or meaningful conversation, even before asking someone to meet for the first time. Although the goal is to go out on a date, I suspect a lot of users will find satisfaction in just conversing with people with common interest. Looking forward to seeing it gain traction.

I think the product looks, feels and works great. Kudos to you and Jarred for building this. I have a question. I obviously noticed the name "Apply to Date" which I think is really witty, creative and fits the product. Having said that, do you believe that if one used a similar process to find love or intimate-based experiences(dating, sex, marriage, everything in between) the same way they search for work/employment (or meaning in their work), they would be more satisfied in the long run? Is that what you're betting on?
