Aqua is fast AI dictation that lets you talk into any text field -- Cursor, Gmail, Slack, even your terminal. It starts up in under 50ms, inserts text in about a second (sometimes as fast as 450ms), and has state-of-the-art accuracy.

I've been using Aqua for the past week. About two days in, I fully converted over, and I am now completely sold on it. I even ended up holding an impromptu demo on a team call this morning, and I'm pretty sure I've convinced several Product Hunt team members to try it out.
The streaming feature is what fully sold me on it. Being able to edit and change the text as I dictate has made it so much more useful than any other dictation apps I've tried. It also just works super fast, and I don't think I've run into any typos.
This is one of those rare tools that just immediately fit into my workflow and that I know I will be using on a daily basis from here on out.
Huge congrats to the team! I look forward to hopefully converting many more people over to using it, haha

🧠 Deep Context: increases accuracy when coding, messaging, and other complex scenarios by privately using what's on your screen. Think of it like MCP for every app that you don't have to setup.
🎛️ Custom Instructions: You can fine tune your output to get it just right:
Example: "Use lowercase in iMessage. In Figma, don't add periods or ending punctuation. Often used commands when in terminal, cursor, vscode: ..."
As you can see from some of the other comments, a lot of people have tried both and we've been having waves of people switch from Flow and then email us and say, "I've tried them all - you guys are #1."

I'm a big fan of Aqua! I've been using it for maybe a week now, and it is definitely faster than all the alternatives I've tried. I was very skeptical initially because I've used many others, and I thought they were all pretty good. But after going through it and trying it, it actually is so much better than all the alternatives that I cannot live without it now! I was having troubles with it at some point, and I was actually so sad because I had to go back to some of the alternatives, and it was a noticeable difference! (yes sent with Aqua)

I've been really enjoying using this! I think the thing I love the most is the double tap of the function key to unlock the longer dictation mode.
As I've been using dictation apps more and more, it's become the main way I input information to the computer, and it's great and very intuitive for short snippets, but for longer snippets, it's quite difficult for me to write when I can't see what I'm writing. I really like the mode that Aqua has here, and it's also really cool to see how the previous version of the app, which was more of a document editor, has inspired this more seamless input.
It seems like Aqua still has one of the most useful traits of the previous version of the app, which is that it understands your intent quite well, whether you intend to dictate or you intend to edit.

@rajiv_ayyangar Thanks, Rajiv The speed focus was really an all-in approach from start of time to short sessions to responsiveness on very long things. Glad you're liking it.
