Arborist is an app for macOS which helps you keep your git projects in order. You can launch the tools you always use into the correct context, and run commands no matter which worktree you're in. AI workflows are especially helped because you can see your Claude and Codex chats right in the inspector pane. Take control of your git projects with Arborist.

I built Arborist because I needed a way to get my projects in order. I had a bunch of worktrees, and I had to come up with convoluted scripts to run my common commands in each of them.
I use the same apps (Nova, Xcode, Git Tower) no matter which project I'm working on and I found it all too easy to have Xcode pointing to one branch and Nova pointing to another. With Arborist I can ensure that my tools are open to the same checkout by closing the other windows for that app before Arborist opens my selected checkout. It's really helped me regain some of my sanity!

finally an app that gets git worktree workflows right, kind of surprised how much i use the inspector pane for viewing claude chats now. clean little tool

One thing I'd love is a quick visual diff of staged vs unstaged changes per worktree directly in the sidebar, so I can see at a glance what still needs committing without opening each project separately.

One thing that would make this even more useful is letting me pin specific scripts or commands per repo, so I don't have to remember the exact incantation for each project every time I switch contexts.
