AstroAlert is your personal sky-watch assistant. It tells you exactly which satellites, planets, comets, and deep-sky objects will pass right above your location in the next 24 hours — including spectacular zenith events above 70°. Powered by NASA/JPL data, it combines real-time calculations with educational content, a full astronomy glossary, and detailed object sheets. The sky above you, revealed with precision.

Love the idea! Will this be available on Android or web browser at some point?
AstroAlert
@seantiffonnet Thank you! 🙌
Yes — the Android version is already in closed testing and will be available in the next few days.
A web version is also planned right after the Android rollout. 🚀

This looks like a really cool app, wow!! 🤩 Congrats on the launch!
This would be so useful for stargazers and people who are just curious about what deep sky objects may be visible etc. Love how the images are shown too for galaxies etc. Would you eventually expand to add constellations in the future? So that the app could showcase what major constellations would be visible. Am curious!

@silvia_odwyer1 Thank you so much! 🙌 Really appreciate the kind words.
And yes — constellations are definitely planned!
I’m already working on expanding the app to include major constellations, with visibility info just like for planets, satellites and deep-sky objects.
Lots more coming very soon 😊

This is quite amazing. How do you know the location? Do you ask for location permission?
AstroAlert
@chilarai Thank you! 🙌
Yes — the app asks for location permission the very first time, but it's entirely optional after ! You can disable it.

Thank you all so much — we just passed 80 upvotes! 🚀✨
I really appreciate the support. If you have any questions, feedback, or ideas, feel free to ask — I’m here all day and happy to chat! 🙌
Finally a simple way to know what’s actually happening in the sky right above you. Super handy for catching those rare “blink and you miss it” passes. Do you plan to add alerts for really special events - like ISS flares or unusually bright flyovers - so people don’t miss them?
AstroAlert
@evgenii_zaitsev1 Thank you so much — that’s exactly the goal of the app!
And yes, absolutely: I’m planning to add special-event alerts soon, including rare visibility moments (the ISS is already in the app 😉).
I want AstroAlert to make sure people never miss those “once in a while” sky events. 🚀
Really appreciate the feedback!

@budb Haha true, that’s actually a really good name! 😄
I hesitated a lot while naming the app — maybe I’ll keep Satalert in mind for a future feature or companion tool!
Thanks for the idea! 🚀
