Hey ProductHunt! Have you ever missed an important meeting or event on your calendar? Ever been frustrated with notifications being useless?
Throughout my professional life there have always been periods of time where my life basically starts to fall apart whenever I'm actually excelling at work. The reason was because once I got locked in and super productive on a task, I would completely lose track of everything else. I’d miss important things like doctor’s appointments, lunch plans with friends, and even work meetings simply because I was suddenly too focused to notice the time. Calendar alerts/notifications were simply not enough because I had become deaf to them. I always knew that alarms were way more effective at getting my attention for several reasons:
They break through silent mode/DND
Alarms are persistent and require me to actually pick up my phone and acknowledge it in order to turn them off. (unlike notifications that get ignored 90% of the time)
So an alarm is more like a tap on the shoulder from someone to say “hey, time to go." Now my only problem with alarms was that I needed to remember to set them... like every day... This issue had started to become a huge burden on my overall well-being and adding another chore was basically out of the question.
With iOS 26's new AlarmKit framework, we built Beacon so you'll never miss an important event ever again! Instead of getting a notification when an important event is about to start, Beacon will trigger a real system alarm that breaks through do not disturb.
Beacon is intentionally designed to NOT be another chore/task management tool.
Beacon automatically syncs with your Apple Calendar and requires minimal setup to find the important events that you can specify via special rules. Beacon will then set alarms for these events without requiring you to open the app again.
