Keep your agents and builds running on a Mac mini or Studio. Beam brings their Terminal, browser and other app windows onto the Mac in front of you, each as its own window with a Dock icon and ⌘Tab presence. Encrypted between your Macs. Free to try.

Does it require both Macs to be on the exact same local Wi-Fi or does it work over Tailscale/VPN when working remotely?
@jack_hayes83 Both work! On the same Wi-Fi it just works, and with Tailscale it works from anywhere. Hiten and I use it to share our Macs between the UK and the US.
@hnshah @hamza_afzal_butt Absolutely! Terminal, your browser and any other apps can all be open side by side, each as its own window, and they stay smooth and responsive. Open a whole app from the Apps view and all of its windows come over together.
I keep a Mac mini sitting in my closet for heavy AI builds so bringing those windows onto my Macbook natively with Dock icons is huge.
@manjesh_yadav1That’s exactly the setup we built Beam for! Even with no display plugged in, Beam gives your Mac mini a virtual display at your MacBook’s resolution, so every window comes over crisp and sharp. It feels like having a monitor connected directly to it
i have been using standard screen sharing to manage my Mac Studio workflows but the lag and single window setup was always annoying. definitely giving this a shot
@sandy_leventh You’re going to love Beam! Each window from your Mac Studio comes over as its own real window, smooth and sharp, right alongside your other apps. It streams up to 120 fps at your display’s exact resolution, and you can fine-tune the frame rate and quality in Settings to suit your setup. On a good network it feels instant.
honestly i was skeptical about latency for interactive browser windows but the demo looks super responsive.
@johanna_john1 Thanks Johanna! Try it with your own browser windows. Scrolling and typing keep right up with you.
This seems quite convenient. I have one question though: when someone shares their screen and we take control, there's a bit of lag when interacting with their screen. Will that lag still exist when we try screen sharing through Beam?
@rishabhnasa Thanks Rishabh! Speed was a huge focus for us, and honestly, we think it’s the smoothest screen sharing experience available today. Beam connects your Macs directly, uses Apple silicon’s built-in video hardware, and streams at your display’s exact resolution, up to 120 fps. It’s smooth enough for videos and even games, and the app’s sound comes too. You can tune it all in Settings. Give it a try and let me know how it feels!
What distinguishes Beam from screen sharing or Remote Desktop? Is it streaming individual windows rather than the whole desktop?
Btw, Congratulations @hnshah and @samasante 🎊🚀
@hnshah @aymi_malik Thanks! It actually does a great job at both. Beam can bring over individual windows as real windows on your Mac, each with its own Dock icon and spot in ⌘Tab, and resizing one here resizes the real window over there. Or share the whole Mac, at your display’s exact resolution with native shortcuts and all your Spaces. Either way, it’s the sharpest and smoothest screen sharing app I've ever used ⚡
