Congratulations on the successful launch of Beloga! Could you elaborate on the types of information Beloga can capture? Is it limited to text, or can it handle multimedia files such as images, videos, and audio?

@paige4ever Thank you thank you! 🎉 For sure, we currently only support text but have an immediate plan for capturing images as well. Videos and audio will be a little tricky due to their larger file sizes but definitely possible. Just out of curiosity, what do you envision using Beloga for? 🙂 is it for work or for personal use?

Congratulations! I registered for a trial, and I find the concept very interesting. However, I have a few suggestions: 1. Could you implement an automatic summary generation? I prefer not to wait when I'm looking for a summary. 2. Is it possible to automatically generate tags? I’d rather not write them by hand, but I might need them during searches.

Hi @jaredl, those are excellent suggestions. The reason why we opted for generating summaries on-demand was because we were using the same search algorithm as we do in our AI search. That can get pretty complex as we make sure to index the whole document before retrieving specific relevant pieces needed for the summary :) That ensures that we're not omitting crucial pieces of information within the document. However, this can definitely be done in the background, just needs a couple of infrastructure changes 👍 It's also definitely possible to automatically generate tags 😄 we have lined up in the roadmap. Just out of curiosity though, were you expecting these tags to be completely automated? Or also allow for user intervention to specify additional tags?

@jpgohil93 Exactly! We try not to impose our world views when designing a productivity tool as we understand that everyone has a different knowledge management style. Most productivity tools out there are usually quite opinionated based on what the founder believes knowledge management should look like.

Under the background of the AI Age of Discovery, there are some excellent AI products, but we also often encounter useless software under the banner of AI. Apparently, Beloga has found an effective path for AI to assist the brain. Through Beloga, it is equivalent to having a super knowledge base and a super search engine, truly helping me have a "second brain" (of the effective type).

@ryan_niu Glad you like it! Haha we've been struggling to find an efficient UI to encapsulate such a complex backend (search + LLM). We've ended up here through many iterations of user feedback! This is by no means the final product but we're pretty confident this is the kind of search experience we want to deliver 🙂
