Clipboard history and screenshots, searchable together. BiBimba reads the text inside screenshots, so you can find a receipt total or an error message later and paste just what you need. On-device AI translates, summarizes, rewrites. Stays on your Mac. $9.
Hi Product Hunt, I'm Rihito, a solo developer in Japan.
BiBimba started from a small annoyance: I take a lot of screenshots (receipts, error dialogs, slides), and when I need one number from one of them a week later, I can't search for it. So BiBimba treats screenshots like clipboard entries. It runs OCR on them right away, and everything you copied or captured ends up in one search box. Type "invoice" and you get the text you copied, the screenshot with that word in it, and the snippet you saved.
A few things that matter to me:
- Everything stays on your Mac. History and screenshots are stored locally, you pick how many items to keep and for how long, and there are no analytics. - The AI features (translate, summarize, rewrite, your own saved instructions) use Apple's on-device models, so nothing is sent to a server. They need a Mac with Apple Intelligence turned on. - It's keyboard-first. ⌃⇧C opens history, Return pastes into the app you were in, ⌃K runs text actions. - $9, one time, for 3 Macs. Buy again with the same email if you need three more. No subscription.
Requirements: Apple silicon and macOS 26 or later. That's a real limitation, and it's because the OCR and the on-device models come from the current OS, not something I bundle.
The interface is in ten languages. I'd love to hear what you'd want it to do with your screenshots, and I'll be here all day answering questions.
@balazs_ilsinszki Thanks, Balazs! You're right—a trial would be a great way to try BiBimba. I'm adding a 7-day free trial now and will reply here once it's live!
@balazs_ilsinszki The 7-day free trial is now live! Download the latest BiBimba at https://bibimba.mamama.company/ and choose “Start 7-day free trial” in the app—no email or card needed. I'd love to hear how it works for you, and please let me know if there's a feature you'd like!

I take a lot of screenshots for the help guides of my product, in five languages, so text inside images is a daily problem for me. I have two questions: does the OCR handle Italian, German and French accents, or is it tuned for English? And
does it read the screenshot at capture time or only when I search, because I usually need the text hours later, when the screenshot is already buried under fifty others and I only remember one word of what was in it?
@davide_terni Yep, Italian, German and French are supported. OCR detects the language automatically, and you can also choose multiple preferred languages in Settings. It's better to set preferred languages to help BiBimba detect the language, but it can still detect other languages even if you don't set them.
It runs in the background after you take a screenshot, and the text is saved with it. So, you can search your screenshot history hours later using a word you remember. Give it a try with your own screenshots, and let me know if any accented characters come out wrong!
making screenshots actually searchable by their text is such an obvious gap once you notice it - half my clipboard history is screenshots of receipts or error messages I can never find again. Does the OCR run fast enough to keep up if you're a heavy screenshotter, or is there a lag before a new one becomes searchable?
@galdayan The OCR has been pretty quick for me, so I don't think speed will be a problem. I just added a 7-day free trial, so give it a go with your own screenshots! https://bibimba.mamama.company/
Let me know if anything feels slow or you run into any issues!
@rihito_arai good to know, the free trial makes it an easy yes. going to actually load up a folder of receipts and see how it holds up - appreciate the quick answer
