Having served on many non-profit boards of directors, it became very apparent that record-keeping was a challenge for most organizations. This is especially true for smaller non-profits that are volunteer run. Non-profits boards, and any governance body for that matter, have a fiduciary duty to their shareholders, donors, and the public to keep accurate records and ensure historical records are passed along to future directors and board members.
