Break Buddy reminds you to hydrate, stretch, and rest your eyes throughout the workday β and turns it into a light team competition. Set your own break intervals, earn points for teams that show up, and climb a shared leaderboard with your coworkers.

Hey Product Hunt π
I'm Lucho], and I built Break Buddy because I kept losing entire workdays to "just five more minutes" β no water, no standing up, eyes glued to the screen for hours. I wanted something that would nudge me without being annoying, and that felt more like a game than a nagging app.
Break Buddy runs three kinds of breaks β hydration, eye rest, and walk & stretch β on intervals you set yourself. When a break starts, there's a real countdown (not just a "mark as done" button), so it actually counts. Do it with a team and everyone racks up points on a shared leaderboard, which turned out to be a surprisingly fun way to get coworkers to actually take breaks together.
It's free to use solo. Team and company plans exist for the leaderboard/group features, and it's free to try through August 7 while we're gathering feedback from this launch.
I'd love to know: what would make you actually stick with a break app past week one? That's the thing I'm most unsure about, and your answers are going to shape what I build next.
A team competition angle is such a clever way to make breaks stick. One thing that would help here: add a way to mute the leaderboard for a day or two if someone is sick or on PTO, so folks don't feel guilty about missing points. Would make the whole thing feel more sustainable long term.
@moshe_yanΒ that is a great idea! thanks a lot :)
How did you feel about the app? Was it nice, easy to use? The goal was to make something not overwhelming, did I achieve that? let me know! =D
