The AI meal plan feature is a nice touch, actually tailoring suggestions instead of just dumping generic recipes. Curious how it handles dietary restrictions beyond the usual suspects.
@berfindang69225 Thanks! That's something I'm continuing to improve. Right now CalTrack supports personalized meal plans based on goals and diet preferences, and I'm working on expanding support for more dietary restrictions and preferences over time. I'd love to know which restrictions are most important to you.
Have been looking for something less tedious than my usual app and the scanner sounds promising. One idea that would really help me stick with it: add a quick barcode shortcut for packaged foods I eat on repeat, so I can log my usual yogurt or protein bar in two taps instead of scanning every time.
@ekin1365035 Thanks for the suggestion! I completely agree—a barcode scanner would make logging packaged foods much faster. It's on my roadmap, and I've already updated the home screen so users can launch the AI food scanner directly with a single tap. I appreciate the feedback!
Tried the scanner with a homemade stir fry and it nailed the portion estimate better than other apps I've used. The weekly insights page is genuinely helpful for spotting where my protein drops off.
@kymetrayw That's great to hear! Homemade meals are one of the harder cases for AI food recognition, so I'm glad it worked well for you. Thanks for trying it out, and I'm continuing to improve the accuracy with every update.
The meal scan idea is great, would love a barcode scanner for packaged foods since most of my snacks don't come out right with the photo scan. That would speed things up a lot.
@asyadizili Thanks for the feedback! You're not the only person who's requested barcode scanning for packaged foods. It's definitely something I'm considering because it would pair really well with the AI food scanner for homemade meals.
Honestly the AI meal plan feature is what sold me, it actually adapts to my goals instead of just throwing a generic plan at you. Calorie logging is way faster than other apps I've tried too.
@elmastrkbadx3w Thank you! Making meal plans feel personalized instead of generic was one of my main goals when building CalTrack. I'm really happy that stood out to you.
honestly the AI food scanner sounds like the real standout here — being able to just snap a pic instead of digging through a database feels like it would actually make me stick with tracking, which is basically the whole problem with most apps like this.
@metehanses11655 Thanks! I had the same frustration with traditional calorie trackers, where searching for foods could take longer than eating the meal. That's exactly why I built the AI food scanner—to make tracking much quicker and easier.
